Shetland Darts Association recently (Saturday 11th January) held the SDA Cricket Singles and Doubles competition in the Lerwick Legion with 17 players entering the Singles competition and 8 pairings competing in the Doubles.
Singles. The format was played over 2 innings of 11 wickets for the Singles Competition which saw players compete in 4 groups with the top 2 from each group progressing through to the quarter finals.
The quarter finals saw Start Paul beat Frank Watt, Neal Redfern beat Ross Bisset, Barry Couper defeat Craig Main and finally Ramsay Hogg beat Kenneth Henry.
The semi finals saw Stuart bt Neal to progress through to the final where he met the 2024 winner Ramsay Hogg who defeated Barry Couper in his semi final.
The final saw Ramsay claim victory over Stuart to retain the trophy for another year.
Doubles The Doubles competition was played as straight knockout playing the over a format of 2 innings of 11 wickets, following the opening quarter final round, the semi finals saw Ramsay Hogg & Michael Eunson defeat Marc Henry & Kenneth Henry whilst Frank Watt & Neal Redfern beat Ross Bisset & Garry Bremner.
Again the final saw the defending pairing of Ramsay Hogg & Michael Eunson defeat their opponents to retain the doubles trophy. On the night 180’s were recorded from Craig Main x3 Ramsay Hogg and Marc Henry.
